For the second day in a row Prime Minister Nouri Maliki
by JesseD
Has stated "he will sign no letters of agreement with the U.S. until we leave Iraq in total or provide a timetable for doing so." McCain said 4/22/04 "If the elected head of state in Iraq asks us to leave, we will leave." Today when questioned he waffled and said (hang on here it comes again) "Well, I agree and we will WHEN CONDITIONS ON THE GROUND ALLOW THAT!" Fucking amazing.

since we need oil
by redtide
we will be in Iraq for many more years regardless of who gets elected and to suggest otherwise is just a lie
Re: since we need oil

So, it WAS all about oil? Nice admission. Thanks

by redtide

what did you think it was about?

Re: admission?
by JesseD
Oh I (and most people KNEW) it was about it being for oil, but all along Bush, Republicans including McSame have denied it.
congress and the whitehouse did not

Want to make any bets as to whether a timetable is made? Any bets as to whether we leave when the U.N. says their OK for us being there is over?

Those aren't very safe bets. I'm guessing that if we leave, it will be at least about 16-18 months after President Obama takes office if it happens and we won't be able to do it then unless the Iraqi government has been retooled and their Constitution rewritten in a way that brings them together instead of dividing them.

even if yobama wins in november
by redtide
we will still be in Iraq for years to come
Re: even if yobama wins in november

At 2 Billion per month, we will go bankrupt before making your forecast come true.
Re: congress and the whitehouse did not
by JesseD
Congress has tried several times to pin a timetable to funding bills which were vetoed by Bush and sustained by Republicans. Get your facts straight.
not really
by redtide
congress also knows the truth about Iraq and why we are there
we are stuck there no matter the cost
by redtide
perhaps it could have been handled a bit better though
Re: not really
by JesseD
Yes, really. Those are FACTS not your idle words.
