How about that Congress Job Rating

9%.......The approval rating of our Democratic Congress is the LOWEST in US history. The reason most often given for this low rating is that rather than solving problems, they're playing politics.

They're not impeaching Bush/Cheney so they are not doing their job.

What does this have to do with "faith"? Or is the belief that Bush/Cheney don't belong in jail a matter of faith? Has politics in America become a Faith-Based endeavor?

According to the July 1 survey of 1,000 likely voters, only 9 percent of respondents said Congress is doing a good or excellent job, 36 percent said it was doing a fair job and 52 percent it was doing a poor job.

Democrats still enjoy a 12 percentage point lead on Rasmussen’s generic congressional ballot. When given the choice, 47% of voters nationwide would vote for their district’s Democratic candidate, while 34% would choose their Republican candidate.

And other polls have repeatedly shown (latest by 52 to 33 percent) that people would rather have Democrats retain control of Congress.

It's the belief that posting new TLP's will make people forget he was shown to be full of it in his previous 50 states thread.

What's this, Spike? Putting the poll results in context? Heh...what's next, posting more than a single bible verse?

What the polls reflect is a time-old concept -- people don't like Congress, but they like their rep. It's even true of me. My Congressman has been voting on prominent issues the way I like; I check. He has nothing to fear from me and he would know it if he did. The Senators, well...that's another story. But then, they're Republicans.

There... fixed that for you. The approval rating is for the entire Congress -- not just the slight majority of it that is Democratic.

By the way, didn't the Republicans used to hold the majority? Whatever happened to that?

well that all changes after 2008

I would agree that the Dem Congress plays politics since they have to deal with that asshole GWB and the criminal Dickhead VP.

But don't worry Nano, once Obama is President and the Dems gain additonal seats (expected even by GOP experts) they wouldn't need to play politics anymore!

They will be able to push their anti Christian agenda without restraint! Is this a great country or what!

It also reflects another time-old concept, the approval of Congress is always lower than the approval of the President. (If I recall correctly, the only two times it was close to congress actually having a higher approval than the President was under both of the Bush's)

True enough! I've never seen congress pass the president on approval myself, but then I am not an extreme poll watcher.

This does give Bush the younger something to shoot for; he is legacy-building, after all. Worst president in history should make the books. Granted, not for the reasons he might like, but beggars can't be choosers.

I heard a great quote the other day. "America has two parties, one that doesn't know anything & the other can only think of bad ideas"

I want that on a bumper sticker.

So. Will a US Attorney bring murder charges against Bush after the end of his administration? Shit, will some State prosecutor bring murder charges against Bush when he is out of office? He's vulnerable you know! Hell, even a county prosecutor (district attorney) can bring such charges if a trooper that died in Iraq was from his county/district. And there is no statute of limitations on murder! LOL!!!

Bush Behind Bars!!
