What am I missing here?

I thought feminism was invented here in the US by Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem, long after the 30's.

What I'm wondering is - how did Dolores Ibarruri manage to raise her consciousness without a copy of "Our Bodies, Ourselves?"

And whether she needed the famous mirror to learn self-esteem.

Personally, I don't think she needed the mirror.

I think that when you esteem others, self-esteem comes naturally, without mirrors and "how-to" courses in using them.

There is a reason they are billed as the second wave you knuckle-dragging obama-supporting woman-hating (though I do believe those last two may be redundant) troglodyte.

And I don't hate women.

I do, however, have long arms, so my knuckles sometimes drag. But that whole knuckle-draggers-hate-women thing is a stereotype.

I support Obama too, and I don't hate women either.
