Franken hasn't been funny since his days as part of Franken & Davis on SNL. His political authorship won him lots of fans, but at the end of the day, he's just another over the hill comic trying to cash in on voter discontent. Celebs in Congress don't add much. (Sonny Bono and Fred Grandy for example) Like Air America, Franken will soon crash.

He would be a big joke if he won, I kind of hope he wins.

I don't know. Sonny Bono managed to make sure Mickey Mouse stayed out of the public domain.

I consider the funnier joke(s) being Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood all cashing in off the Republican Party to provide them the opportunity to do their own interpretations of the "Big Gig".

But this may be a tough fight for Franken. He would undoubtedly win if he switched parties to Republican becuase Democrats tend to be a bit more discerning toward "Entertainers". Then again, who's to say about Minnesota and all those Jesse Ventura voters out there? Being an Independent who had the opportunity to listen to Mr. Ventura share his opinions in depth, I found myself having to agree with him on several topics. And I have read Mr. Franken's things and find him to be equally interesting as well. We'll see if precedent is set in Minnesota.
