McCain's computer illiteracy.
by HennaRinse
+1 Reply

After an earlier post made here, it occurred to me, how does McCain communicate with his party, fellow senators and constituents? Does his staff print and deliver mountains of paper memos and correspondence? We all used to perform our jobs and conduct our lives via paper, but in the last several years, paper is not the predominant conveyance of information. Will he depend on Cindy to take care of him if he won the presidency?

It's not only absurd that he hasn't learned to operate a computer, but pratically speaking, he's cut off from the world. It's unimaginable that a chief executive of any corporation could run a company without a computer. McCain wants to run a 21st century nation without the ability to use its chief method of communication and information gathering. He should give some consideration to entering this century.

unn, I think it's part of a larger narrative that McSame is

....a dumb bastard.

He graduated 5th from the bottom of 880!!!

No one I know can be as stupid as Bush but McSame is trying.

It kind of reminds me of my 80-year-old mother, who doesn't want anything to do with modern technology. But then she doesn't have a job, so it doesn't affect anyone else.

I agree, I thought no one could challenge GWB's on that count.

It was your post that got me to thinking about it. Today, no executive can function without computer skills. How would his lack of ability impact the presidency?

True, there are millions, probably, who feel the same but it only impacts them. I believe McCain's inability to deal with technology could affect the country. One consideration, it speaks to his unwillingness to learn. Sound like the current occupant of the White House.

I am AMAZED at how many people ignore this MAJOR issue.

PC Skills are a must, if you're going to be President.

you know, I'm really surprised Jen01 hasn't said anything about this either.

Assumed tongue in cheek reply.

While not a MAJOR issue, it does speak to his unwillingness to learn. We don't need another uncurious and ill prepared man in the White House. 8 years is long enough.

I don't understand the reference.

Do a Google search on Cecil Van Tuyl. I worked for the man for ten years (up until about four months ago). He runs a multi-billion dollar empire that spans multiple countries (most famously he owns the largest privately held chain of car dealers in the country). He doesn't know how to use a computer and doesn't give a damn to learn. He built his empire before computers were on the scene, and he'll let the underlings do whatever computer work needs to be done while he takes serious decisions.

So, yes, I can imagine a CEO of a major corporation running his business without using a computer.

Obama's been to all of them.

The world's biggest used car dealer. That's what America needs for a president.

What a maroon. This guy certainly is a target rich environment.
Yeah, for sure.

You're idiotic compatriot claimed that no CEO of a major corporation doesn't use a computer, and I proved them wrong instantly. Whether or not we need a person for a particular line of business as president is not that important. Although, I would prefer a successful car salesman to a failed community organizer. Just saying.

Obama's been to all of them. What did he accomplish as a community organizer, by the way?
