Great Match
by kevin hancock
It was a great match -- but I am a bit bummed. Roger Federer is an amazing champion and a class act and I would have liked to see him win the 6. Nadal deserved the win, though -- and Federer played his heart out. It was inspirational to watch.

You're absolutely right. Tennis-watching doesn't get any better than that match.

What a great match -- I doubt we'll see that kind of tennis again in our lifetime (except of course, if these two meet again in another final).

I do quibble a bit with the article though. Certainly, Nadal is excellent defensively, but he is just as great on the offensive end. To simply call it a championship built on defense alone is a bit of a stretch.

Also, the comparison of Nadal's success to Roddick's failure rings a bit hollow to me. I think that the divergent career paths of these two can be more simply explained:

Nadal is a twice in a generation talent (Roger, being the other one). Roddick is simply a poor all-around player. Put simply: he just ain't as good as Rafa is!
