An amazing Sunday morning.
by dumb_blonde

I was outside spraying the flowers with the hose & along came a hummingbird & darted several times through the water spray. It then stopped & started drinking in mid-air about a foot from me.

I will use that hummingbirds example for the rest of the day. Flit about, play in the water & zoom above the trees.

Ithink you're missing part of the example...you need to cover yourself in feathers and go around and find peope who are watering their gardens then run up and drink from the hose :)

They come in all colors here in Georgia DB. Red,Green,Blue,Yellow,Brown and a few combinations. They come to the large kitchen window and try to sip nectar from the flowers there and to my side porch for the same reason. They are a beautiful part of GOD'S creation. We used to see a few tropical canaries from time to time, they come up from South and Central America on cargo ships which dock in Savannah,GA. and Mobile,Al.. I haven't seen any for a year or two, maybe they stopped them from roosting on the ships or there just aren't as many ships.

I have several hummingbird feeders. They are always hanging around. just the delight of the little guy playing & drinking in the water spray right in front on me made my day.

They're delightful

We have a sugar-water feeder and often have the little things buzzing around our backyard. They move with amazing speed and agility, and will sometimes approach closely. You can hear the buzzzz before you see them, often.

Love 'em...:)
