War w/Iraq inevidible.
by swiet

Knowing the threat the US and world nations faced from Saddam Hussein, I believe failure to act to remove the regime would have been an Impeachable Offense. Thankfully, Pres Bush had the guts to do what the spineless condemn him for, and America is safer thanks to him.

It was going to happen...

Anyone who looked at the entire history from Desert Storm to the invasion of 2003 could see that. Anyone who disagrees is either a moron or liar.

I disagree.

And you are moronic neocon liar

And many felt it was a mistake to leave SH in power

following the 1st Gulf War.

But I totally understood why Bush #41 did just that. He didn't want to leave Saddam Hussein in power, but had no choice except to prove himself to be dishonorable, not a man of integrity nor trustworthy.

Those Gulf States who offered support in the 1st Gulf War wanted the ruthless Dictator and his forces out of Kuwait but they didn't want America to remove him from his Muslim Country. The UN didn't want the US to remove Saddam Hussein from power, they wanted sanctions (that later proved to be a joke proven by the Oil For Food Scandal) and to contain him.

Pres Bush #41 gave his word he wouldn't invade Baghdad. And many didn't like it nor understand it.

12 Resolutions later, US pilots being shot at daily, $25,000 rewards to families of suicide bombers, safe-haven to the worlds most ruthless terrorists, and terror camps, and his quest for power and control and the means to achieve it (wmd) ... the SELLING of the war of 2003 was a failure but not the war itself. Bush lost the P.R. war and it wasn't without the assistance from many on both sides of the aisle.

Your pathetic opinion is noted ...

but stick to facts, not that you have any to support your opinions

What threat ?
by partizan
Please list the ways in which Saddam was a threat to the US and the rest of the world.

I disagree that the world is safer with Saddam gone. Iran was the much bigger threat and Saddam was a buffer to Iran.

Anyhow, that is water under the bridge. (and yes, some Dems here at the fray don't feel it is either).

Only 61%?

Now if you ask me, that is an outrage.

LOL! Is that so? Well, what about he threat the world faces from Iran? That, after all, is a real threat, not a made up one like Iraq...

LOL! Bush 41 was right to not invade Iraq. Bush 43 was right to invade Iraq. Apparently Republican Presidents don't make mistakes...
Both Presidents were right ...
by swiet

Both are honorable men and did the right thing at the right time for their Country.

Every single President in our history has made mistakes, and mistakes are made in every war and even in making decisions of war ... esp when no strategic or national security interests are evident. While not the case with these 2 Presidents who were both justified in their war actions albeit mistakes along the way, can't say the same about the previous President and his careless/reckless General Wesley Clark, who invaded without any justification whatsoever - - not a strategic nor a national security threat. But Congress is the only judge that could have decided that and they did ... in the case of Kosovo and in both actions against Saddam Husseins Iraq.

Is Iran a "gathering threat"? I think so ...
by swiet

And must be dealt with.

Each situation is different, so strategy must also be different. But the US no matter who is President, will not allow Iran and their hired guns (terrorists) to obtain a nuke.
