Just in case you've wondered,

of late if patriotism is waning in our nation, put your doubts at rest. Last evening I performed my annual ritual of presenting the colors at Colorado National Speedway, a chore they ask me to perform once a year. And as I stood in the infield of the big oval, holding Old Glory at high mast in the midst of a gusty windstorm and watched over 15,000 fans celebrate the presentation of the colors with enough gusto to rattle the railings I was reminded once again that the spirit which drives this nation is far from dead -- fifteen thousand fans on their feet, screaming, holloring, and paying their respects to our nation's emblem, a reminder of better times in our history, times I think we will see again is the only assurance I need.

The spirit that is the heartbeat of our nation is alive and well and it behooves us all to keep the faith in a nation that was once the international symbol of democracy, and work just a tad harder to keep us on that track.

Wasn't that a wonderful feeling Gramps?

We had three small town parades, rain and all.Nothing will stop them from celebrating our Country!

This is what this Country is made of and my feeling is those who have let us down will hear loud and clear come November!

will, unfortunately, return to office to continue the same nonsense which we have had to endure since they were first elected. We will listen to their lies, nod agreeingly, believing every word they have to say. They will tell us it isn't THEIR fault - and we will buy it once again.

But you were at a speedway in Colorado.

Try it at an arts and craft fair in Vermont.

It would be my pleasure to present the colors in Colorado, or Vermont, or any other state in our Union whether it be an arts and crafts event, an automobile race, or a country hoedown. There is no "try" to the task. It's my honor to oblige.. And we might both be surprised how well the ritual would be received. But, what the hell, anything I might've did, past or present, as regards our nation's welfare probably doesn't "amount to a hill of beans", as you've stated in the past.

Enjoy. It's later than you think.

and come November the people who brought the shame and dishonor to that old flag will be long gone, and most of their followers ,too.

Unless they manufactor some terrorist threat and are able to run on their only successful plank, fear.

I agree we have seeb better times, "BUT"

Know we will see them again.
