Elderly? in Medicare Advantage[private insurer]??
by Jimminyc

Well, you're not going to like this, especially if you are democrat. Democrats want to eliminate the program---too costly they say. AND allow a 10.6 percent cut in fees[YOU will pay].

"Doctors have complained for years that Medicare payments have failed to cover rising costs.

This year, majority Democrats homed in on cutting the Medicare Advantage program, which is an ideological issue for both parties. The Bush administration and Republicans like Medicare Advantage because it lets the elderly and disabled choose to get their health benefits through private insurers rather than through traditional Medicare. Democrats argued that government payments to the insurers are too generous.

The White House warned that President Bush would be urged to veto a bill that contained cuts to Medicare Advantage.

That didn't stop the House last Tuesday from approving the legislation 355-59, well above the margin needed to override a veto. Every Democrat supported it, and Republicans, bucking their president, voted 129-59 for it."

Very interesting, no?? The democrat party is the one supposedly helping the little man?? Sure doesn't look like it to me. Looks like they want to screw the elderly on Medicare programs as much as they can!!! As long as that is the only insurance get when they are out of office I guess I could live with it BUT with their 100% health care program and 100 to 150% retirement pay program they are really screwing us royal. We can hardly make ends meet with these rising prices BUT if our representatives get a little financially tight they just vote themselves another $15,000 or so raise. Something is wrong with this picture!!!

129 Republican traitors---disgusting!!

showing us more and more that they are simply branches of the same family. Neither of them would do what it would take to save Medicare and Social Security. Both of those programs have been raided so many times that they are broke, literally and figuratively and both parties are much more interested in ruling the world than allowing our seniors to reap what they have sown.

We're screwed, pal.

Jimminy, the one thing I give Bush credit for. He put a hold on cutting Doctors fees from Medicare until the Senate comes back. Giving them a chance to correct this.

It is a 20% cut and most doctors would simply refuse patients from Medicare. I know from personal experience how long it takes for a Doctor to get paid between Insurance and Medicare.

My checkup last fall is just now winding down as far as payment.I can imagine if I had a hospital bill. This was just routine tests.

FYI,I think Reid and Pelosi are totally useless. Not much better than Gingrich,Hastert and Delay. Also the heart surgeon from Tennessee who said a woman had brain waves from a grainy picture on TV

What useless people we elect into office and the Obama followers wonder why we are not enthused. He is just more of the same.Talks a big talk. For all his plans,we are broke and nothing will fix that.

Seems strange to me. Poor Scotland, poor, as Westminister assures us, can afford free care for the elderly, whether it is in their own home, in specially designed apartments with a warden just the press of a button away, or in care homes - and ultra rich US can't aford it.

Sure; tell that to the marines!
