Flags and Parades and oaths are all made for public displays and designed to develop emotions and to avoid any doubts or questions you have. Nationalism was the primary tool used by Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and every other major dictator and conquorer.

I would rather a good person in jeans and a t-shirt than an evil person with a nice uniform, a solid salute, and a flag pin on his lapel.

If you believe nationalism=patriotism I recommend you watch a few old films of Hitler. Flags fly and hang everywhere, uniforms abound, and if you were not in attendence and saluting, you were demonized and off to a concentration camp.

Do you consider Black Power groups, with their slogans of unity, love of uniforms, black exceptionalism and black separatism as openly fascist? Before we consider wearing a pin with American flag a fascistic gesture - why not look at some people, ahm, whose position is more open, and who are closer to genosses Obama. For example, lets examine the "Million man" march organized by Louis Farrakhan.

You've made a fair point there, Gringo. I reckon though that perhaps the black group you mentioned had the integrity to show their faces and not burn any crosses or leave honkeys hanging dead in the public square.

That the black population of this country came here as slaves seems to be forgotten by you. That theirs is the ONLY history based not immigration but on forced labor is clearly something you dont care about. They didnt come here for opportunity or for religious freedom or for a better life-they came here in chains racked up in the hold of ships like so much cargo. When they got here they were given names by masters and forced to use English-their children were sold off, familes meant nothing.

And when Lincoln "freed the slaves" what happened? Oh thats right-the blacks were free to work for substandard wages at the same jobs but now had to pay for a home and food and since they were paid so badly they were soon in DEBT to the same assholes who brought their families into slavery. Thus slavery didnt really end-it changed forms.

And they were FREE. Free to not use the same facilities, schools, bathrooms, and seats as their white superiors. They were treated as second class citizens. This was the world Jerimiah White grew up in and the world that he watched the United States government fail to change. When the US government refused to get rid of the segregation and the maltreatment of blacks he was there to fight in the civil rights movement-he had to fight a US government that SUPPORTED what amounted to keeping the blacks from ever knowing what it was to be regular American-even the US military was keeping blacks in separate units!

So now Obama's minister is on record saying he doesnt exactly see the US government the same way the white people do. Gee Gringo why do you suppose that is?

Obama has never said a word indicating he hates America. Yes, he has friends who knew a world very different from this one. He has stated one of his goals is to heal what he knows is a rift between people in this nation-not just left and right but black and white.

The you would say he is unAmerican for wanting to heal these divisions is one of the most unamerican statements you could make. Do you have photos of Obama as a black Muslim militant, gun in hand, ready to kill Whitey, Gringo?
