Ps 14:1
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Are there any fools here?

I think you just proved that there is at least one
Who's the fool?
by DeaconFred
You believe in a book that has talking animals, demons, sticks turning into snakes, food falling from the sky, virgin births, people walking on water, etc., etc., etc...

And you have the nerve to call us fools?

Reading comprehension is a real problem on this board. I didn't call anyone anything. I posted a Bible verse and asked a simple question and up you pop with a reply.

I don't believe in God...
by anxiousmofo

But I don't recall being corrupt or doing abominable works.

Are you going to state why you, or the Psalmist, believe that those who don't believe in God are fools, or are you just going to assert it?

Make of it what you will, that is your right just as it's the right of every Christian as long as it is kept in context with the rest of the Bible.

Krikey, it's like trying to have a conversation with T.P. 2000, the Talking Points Robot.

It's not a difficult question, Nanotech: why did you quote that verse approvingly? Why would you consider people who don't believe in God to be fools?

You are actually expecting a straight answer from a preacher? You state it yourself when you comment how he posted it approvingly he believes that anyone who does not believe exactly as he tells them to are fools, he is just too much of a coward to admit it.

LOL...I've already given a straight answer. Just because it's not the one you wanted doesn't make it anything other then a straight answer.

Please show us this so called straight answer preacher. You wouldn't know a straight answer if it kicked you in the ass but what are we to expect from preachers who constantly twist things to suit their agenda of hate.

The Bible is full of ignorance. This is simply one more example of it.

Basically, yeah...I've read the chapter, and commentary on it, but apparently 'context' is just the complaint levied when a non-xian uses the bible to make a point. Nano can nevertheless post a single verse with no context and it's ok in his eyes.
Re: Off Topic

I know what you mean. It amazes me how those who claim reverence for the Bible endlessly corrupt the text.
Re: Off Topic

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Here's another one for you.

Re: Off Topic

That's a worse category. It's not simple ignorance. It's pompous, pretentious nonsense. It's also a basis for subjective, revealed "truth" so it justifies moral relativism. But it lets Christians feel good about themselves so it's quoted often in spite of its drawbacks.
