Ronald Reagan, unpatriotic!

Reading the posts here, I am amazed again by the uniform way posters are spewing their hatred against the bogey-men "libs", whoever they are, using the same arguments almost to the letter. mmm... time to tell the Radio Man to switch talking points?

OK, Ronald Reagan. Every time you fill your car for $4/Gallon remember who was the president that mocked, and killed every fledging gas-saving initiative created by his predecessor. The president that stomped over the idea Americans should maybe think about the future and SAVE energy. But hey, he was the great optimistic American, wasn’t he, so why don’t you sing hosannas while filling that tank?

Ahhhhh. "That Hollywood Crowd!"

The GOP ridicules “That Hollywood Crowd" incessantly whining about these so called “Libs” [by the way, no NEOClown Repugly has yet to provide me a list of Liberals that fit the entire scarecrow boogie lib created by Rush the Junkie, High School Hannity and Herr Von Karl Rove!], yet how many actors has the Democratic Party elected to office? Let’s see…

Sonny Bono Republican

Clint Eastwood Republican

Fred Thompson Republican

Arnold Schwarzenegger Republican

Ronald Reagan Republican

Democrats? Zero. Even actors won’t nominate and vote for actors. Why? Because they’re Actors!

Democrats are real people, solid, smart, selective and decisive. Hollywood stars are as critical of their choice of candidate as those of us who respect the office of the candidacy, and our right to vote. Democrats possess the ability to think for themselves and agree to disagree within the party. They don't parrot the party twaddle you see in the Republican arena.

Observe them on TV. A democrat will answer questions openly and unblinking, in a relaxed posture that shows that they're ready to be a friend, roll up their sleeves and get to work to make the world a better place. Compassion comes to us naturally. We don’t need to externalize it as a descriptive label to the party. “Compassionate Conservative” is as much an oxymoron as “Honest Republican”, “Military Intelligence” or “Liberal Democrat”!

Republicans pose as uncomfortable stiffs. Sub intellectual bullies unwilling to consider any alternative to their party’s sociopathic credo. Never answering a question directly. Diverting the questioner to cast blame on others. Shouting down their opponents. Their eyes are squinted, constantly shifting and blinking through their answers. It's almost as if they are trying to fight off their inevitable physical morphing into the hideous caricature of their god Nixon - heavy jowled, shifty-eyed "I am not a crook!" – Lying incompetents who cannot be trusted to keep their word or fulfill their campaign promises. Buffoons who prooved their ineptitude these last eight years and will not be tolerated this November.

Liberal Patriot, was that all a joke? Honestly do you really believe all that?

Scare tactics? Both parties use them to their advantage and only a silly partisan hack would think otherwise. How about the nuclear explosion behind the little girl holding a flower ad that was run against Barry Goldwater. This was one of the first truly nasty scare tactics used in an election and it was run by the democrats. So if you teach the other party how to use dirty tricks don't cry when they do the same back to you. Other scare tactics to chose from? How about Al Gore and we are all going to die from global warming or the famous Clinton right wing conspiracy ploy?

'Reading the posts here, I am amazed again by the uniform way posters are spewing their hatred against the bogey-men "libs", whoever they are, using the same arguments almost to the letter.'

maybe it's because liberals are so friggen predictable and we've heard the same schpeel for 50 years.

And what office did Jane Fonda get elected to, junior?

'And what office did Jane Fonda get elected to, junior?'

just making a point little miss. you make yours and i'll make mine. do you need some kind of affirmative action program or something?

You had a point?
by Greatbear452

So, that would be none then.

You do realize that the original list was a list of republicans from Hollywood who were elected to office?

I'm sure your mommy can tell you what movies Reagan was in.

Despite feeling dirty even replying to this back and forth drivel, Sonny Bono, while he appeared on T.V., was no actor, sir. One might even be hard pressed to describe him as a musician...

And your "point" is as flaccid as the last seven years of the republican congressional majority.

Out of one side of their smelly mouthes, Republicans will ridicule "That Hollywood Crowd" but they're the first in line when an actor decides to con them into voting for him to play the "Big Gig". Republicans are Saps. Democrats are too smart to fall for that ploy.

And let's not forget Reagan's treasonous conduct in bargaining with the Iranians during the presidential camapign to hold onto the US hostages until Reagan was inaugarated. And Reagan's later trading weapons with the Mullahs in the Iran-Contra scandal.

the only thing worse than your spelling is your feeble memory.

I forgot that in your parallel universe Iran-Contra never happened.
