Obama is in Montana...

Butte, Montana to be exact. Neat place to be on the Fourth of July. Tradition there dictates a pasty picnic and used to mean spending the day a Columbia Gardens for part of my family.

Hope he has a great Fourth of July.

Worse than your usual trial and error post

That's sounds like a great place to be. Begs the question, what is a pasty picnic?

Cornish pasty is a traditional food for Cornish miners. It is a pastry shell around potatoes, meat and seasonings. It makes a meal you can carry in your hand. The pastry is a bit stronger than most, because it needs to stand up to being carried around. They get called "letters from home".

We used to pack up a bunch of them and some drinks and coleslaw and have a picnic for the Fourth.
