Of all our holidays "The Fourth" is

unique to Skeptical (that's me for those of you concerned about posters rambling on in the third person. Eh )

Currently I am wired into the current century what with two PC connected to the Internet, my sattelite TV broadcasting, and my short wave AM FM radio tuned into Radio Havana....

And I do enjoy following the fireworks displays from the Esplanade on the Charles River, Boston, Ma to Seattle, Wa.

(Over the last ten years, the displays have become more and more spectacular, but the entertainment in the form of what once was Sousa style band music is now just "noise" in this senior's ears)

As I listen to my radio, browse the 'net" surf the TV, I marvel at the changes that have come about since my childhood...during the Great Depression we had radio and movies, fireworks - from sparklers, fire crackers to roman candles but nothing like the spectaculars on the market today. My TV screen presentations, except for the cuddles avail at our drive in movies, are superior to the black and white of yesterday.

The Fourth is unique to me, aka Skeptical, as I enter my 82cnd year. Cell phone at hand I am in contact with kin all across our fruited plains. Remote control in hand I am in touch with sights as far away as the moon. Mouse in hand, I am in touch with the world.

And best of all, our Flag is still there.

Cheers.

This poster considers the 4th to be a good Holiday also. Don't be concerend about posters who ramble on in the third person, that might simply be a style experiment.

If people start reffereing to themselves or to you in the past tense then there might be a concern.

If our founding fathers could be brought to this time they would be astounded at our technological progress and gee whiz gadgets. Of course if we could bring our founding fathers to this time i would also be astounded at our technological progress and gee whiz gadgetry.

May Providence bless you dear sir, on our National Holiday. May all reflect on the meaning of this Day and the sacrifices made over the the many years to ensure we are here to enjoy it. As to NickD's suggestion, I often wonder WWJD, what would Jefferson do?

Bless you all in the Fray.

Thank you, kind and beautiful spirit.

Of all our holidays "The Fourth" is... Loud!
by DragonTat2

The Lummi Indians have been blowing up bottle rockets and stuff for days [and nights] now. This evening has been particularly loud and continuous. Boom, boom, boom!

I can't wait to hear what tomorrow brings!

Happy Fourth, Old Dude.

Happy Fourth of July, Skeptical!~

I liked this post very much. I always try and study your attitude and your style of living and the way you allow yourself to appreciate the blessings of life. Always keeping the ability to remain in awe of the wonders of this world and the spiritual world unseen, I believe is a core key to longevity.

You have all of that in aces and spades.

Enjoy the Holiday!

Are you sure you are not listening

to the Chief of the Lummi Tribe doing the Lummi Lurch from too much Kick a Poo Joy Juice? :)

Thanks for the kind words...

Did you catch the NYC display design to match the pyrotechnics to music such as the Tennessee Waltz?. Simply grand,

The once top notch Boston Pops on the Charles; again a disappointment.

Now for the left over salmon bake goodies.

Cheers.
