I'm going to ask this question again
by judy1
-1 Reply

just like I do every week in hopes of getting a straight answer.

McCain would keep us in Iraq indefinitely, he has no plan to get us out. It costs a lot of money to sustain the troop level that we have. How is he going to pay for it?

The reality of paying for it could come from any or all of the following solutions, which ones will be his solution?

1. raise taxes

2. continue to borrow money for it

3. drastically cut domestic spending

my guess=#3
by dadawg

of course it's just a guess....................

Hussein says out in 16 months, then an unknown out, back to 16 month out, so how will Hussein pay for those 16 months?

(1) raise taxes

(2) continue to borrow money for it

(3) drastically cut domestic spending

my guess (1) and (2) actually not a guess, a promise from Hussein.........

your guess....................."IS"

Happy 4th

#2. In all reality, there is very little "pork" to be cut from the federal government. When you get down to it, the military and homeland security are the only two things that could be significantly cut in order to balance the budget without raising taxes. Our infrastructure is decaying at a rapid rate because everything has been cut to the bone outside of the military and security. He's taken the military and security off the table so it will be #2.

Obama on the other hand will save us about 150 billion a year by withdrawing from Iraq. Couple that with increased taxes and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He will do it the same way Obama will do it since they will keep troops on the same timeline as the generals ask them to do.

well, let me put it this way, I sure as hell don't like borrowing all that money to keep us in Iraq indefinitely. With Obama, I know he's actually trying to get us out soon. So if we had to borrow money, or for that matter raise taxes, or cut a little spending to get our people out within the next two years, I'd be a whole lot more okay with that, than to be looking at having to borrow money, raise taxes, or cut everything out of our budget to pay for it for staying indefinitely. I certainly support Obama because he actually has a plan, which is better than Bush had, and better than McSame has.

Happy 4th to you too.

Good question. McCain doesn't understand from where he will obtain the money. He hasn't outlined it in a policy nor speaks to it on the stump, yet Republicans are "hoping" he has the answers, while Obama is is talking straight, if unpopular. Refresh my memory, who are the hope heads?

judy------hussein sounds like nixon
by dadawg

on this issue, voters bought nixon, think they'll by hussein, esp, since he sounds the same as nixon did?

thx

McCain has never said he has no plans for getting us out......he has just said that we will not cut and run when things are turning for the better. We're going to stay until we "get-r done".

That having been said........ money has to be gotten to pay for it. And I believe that cutting not only domestic spending but cutting back a little on the foreign aid we send out would be the way to do it. If we would just cut the unnecessary stuff (studies of the cicada for example) (or money going to pad the nests of the Congress people and their families) it would work. But of course, those in Congress (both parties) would never cut their personal stuff, so it will be important things that would be cut. So be it - if we discover their greed we should vote them out. But that is where the money should come from.

This has been his plan all along. Remember the 1988 GOP Convention?

Haha! Nice. His economic policy is best described as "fiscal fantasy".

Accurate. McCain goes about his everyday, ranting about gas tax holidays and spending policies with nary a clue given as to how he'll pay for it. GWB has had the Chinese to grant his every wish. Is McCain counting them to continue lending?

Re: I'm going to ask this question again

I would guess that he is indeed counting on continued tax cut and spend policies.
it doesn't manner if it's Mac or Hussein

WE will be a presence in Iraq, long after majority here in BBU, are dead and gone.........................

Hell, we haven't pulled out of Germany/Japan YET.........

Which Republicans fully support without comprehending that is why we stand where we are today, near the precipice. They'll follow whomever promises to continue paying them off without presenting a bill.
Pretty clear to me
by Horus

...he'll continue Bush's voodoo economics and bad foreign policy, which means he'll continue to borrow money.

He can't and wont raise taxes, or his base would lynch him; he might want to cut spending, but will be unable because there's simply not enough to cut to pay for his wars and balance his tax-cutting at the same time.
