The checkmarks are almost always related to recently-posted articles. And I'm convinced that a significant percentage of the time it's the posts that are perceived to be provocative enough to grab eyeballs and generate responses that get the check. If those posts happen to be thoughtful and well-written, that's a plus. But it's hardly a necessity.
So it’s not that we regulars don’t consistently craft scintillating, thought-provoking, and check-worthy posts, because of course we do. It’s mostly that we don’t always care to interrupt our sparkling and substantive repartee to comment on the fairly rare and all-too-often tedious and jejune articles that carry the Faith-Based moniker.
If checkmarks were routinely handed out merely for authoring stimulating post about interesting topics, then obviously this board would claim more than its share.
