So then, why does YAHOO allow such a deluge of spam?
by ClayBlasdel

If it's a simple as all that, please tell me why my Yahoo email address gets an avalanche of spam whole my other address do not.

Actually, my question was rhetorical. I think I know why. I think that Yahoo allows the spamers to infiltrate because they need the revenue. Yahoo will undoubtedly deny this with their dying breadth, but I believe it to be true. They need the dough.

So.......I use Yahoo as little as poss. And I have no dog in this fight.

And Please - save you kind advice about spam blocking, etc. I know the drill.

Probably because spammers try a lot of random combinations of words on major email hosts like yahoo, or because you inadvertently got it put into a spam list at some point.

There's a lot more money in creating a spam-free service that is more computer-efficient and that users would flock to than in cooperating with the spammers (who only get a trickle of sales despite the vast volume of mail they send -- it's an extremely inefficient form of advertising).
