One has to look at the origin both racially and nationally of feminists. They are usually white/anglo American or British. Now I'm not knocking women's rights or equality; but these "femo-nazi types" really are a hoot! First they blame most sexism and chauvinism on the white male; not taking into consideration that most "white/anglo American and British women" have more rights and are treated better than most other women around the world. I don't know, redleopard, but I have almost lost friendships over beating a guy at some competition in front of his friends.

If sexism (specifically, predjudice against women) was as dead in the West as you seem to think, losing to me would bug them no more than losing to any of their male friends.

Funny thing...I don't "keep" my husband, nor does he "keep" me. We came together as equal partners, and stay together because we enjoy it. My marriage is not some kind of contest wherein I trick him into fidelity, and he tries to sneak out for some strange.

The other nice thing about equality is taking care of one another. My husband had girlfriends who only wanted to be submissive and obedient in the past; he says he would rather have an equal female partner and get a dog who takes orders.

He has an equal female partner and a stubborn, oversmart, disobedient dog.

Doing nice things for one another (making dinner, footrubs, insert obscene example here) is gratifying to both of us, with no power plays necessary.

Any man who is so insecure in his own worth and masculinity that he needs to find a woman he can treat like a child who will treat him like a king is more of a child than a king. An American woman with a healthy level of self-respect and independence wouldn't want him anyway, so why should we care if he travels to Russia or Asia and buys himself a bride?

Of course, eventually that submissive bride of his will likely become informed by the very culture to which he imports her. When she figures out that our culture allows her to succeed on her own merits, perhaps she will realize that he really wasn't that great of a catch after all . . .

Eh, you never can tell....My MIL is Fijian, and she has been married to my FIL for 15 years. She insists on waiting upon him hand and foot. She waits on me, too, when I am there, and it bugs me because I was raised to be helpful and she won't let me clear the table or anything.

My FIL tries to pay her back by buttering her up, buying her little gifts and telling her constantly that she is the best thing ever to happen to him. And you know what? She is. They are completely enamoured of one another and hold hands like a couple of teenagers.

I couldn't live like that, with someone I loved and respected serving me and running errands and cleaning up after me. But it's not my relationship, it is theirs, and they are happy.
