Y mi Rosa de San Antone

Deep within my heart lies a melody,
A song of old San Antone.
Where in dreams I live with a memory,
Beneath the stars, all alone.

Well it was there I found, beside the Alamo,
Enchantments strange as the blue up above.
For that moonlit pass, that only he would know,
Still hears my broken song of love.

Moon in all your splendor, known only to my heart,
Call back my rose, rose of San Antone.
Lips so sweet and tender, like petals falling apart,
Speak once again of my love, my own.

Broken song, empty words I know,
Still live in my heart all alone.
For that moonlit pass by the Alamo,
And rose, my rose of San Antone.

Broken song, empty words I know,
Still live in my heart all alone.
For that moonlit pass by the Alamo.
And rose, my rose of San Antone.

Jack, thanks for sharing your photos of San Antonio. My dad grew up in San Antonio so we spent many vacations there when I was young. A lovely city. Makes me feel a little wistful as it's been many years since I've visited there...

And what a cute grandson you have!

Well thanks, ag, it is a beautiful city. The boy is a menace to society but he is cute.

I was stationed at Ft.Sam in early 70's. Was back recently and found that most of the Ft Sam things have changed and lots were exactly the same.

I have many very good memories of San Antone that are still crystal clear; stored away in good place storage in my mind. It's funny how a town can stick with you that way.

Are the Pig Stands still there? If you have ever spent time in one of the booths a Pig Stand you will understand.

I can remember Bush Beer and how pretty their brewery was (light blue and white). Is it still there?
