No Hurry
by ducadmo

Oh, now Bush gets all environmental.

I have mixed thoughts on this, because a comprehensive study is necessary and will take time, but a sudden blanket moratorium on development across the entire southwest is ludicrous. If there is any doubt that this administration will do whatever it needs to do to protect the interests of oil companies, this action should dispell it.

However, I do expect this process to be expedited Obama is elected and the industry will continue to advance in the meanwhile. I prefer distributed systems anyway, using commercial rooftops and parking lots, but the only way the southwestern states can meet their renewable energy targets is with some co-operation from the federal government - and that is not going to happen while this fuckwad holds office.

Here's an example of what the sumbitches are truly afraid of

Hacking the link to what they can charge you to stay alive and happy. Efficient solar will make folks too self sufficient. No hurry on their part is correct.

at a time when solar growth should be exponential, some companies, such as Akeena, are actually laying off. Seems our leaders looked at the energy crisis and thought it wise to start dickin' around with the solar tax credit. While everyone expects it to be reinstated, perhaps with the $2000 cap removed, for now planning for new installations has come to a standstill. And now we get knee-capped again.

Good thing I'm in school instead of working in solar.
