Why are Repubs so mad at Clark and where is their shame?
by Whocares
All he said was that being a pilot, getting shot down and then being a POW wasn't nesessarily a useful background for being president. He never said anything bad about McSame's service. NOW, let us compare that to what the Repubs did to Max Cleleand and John Kerry. They called one, who had given his legs in our country's service, unpatriotic and the other they "Whitewatered". Somehow I think what they did to these two men was much worse than saying what Clark did about McSame and yet I never hear a single Repub saying shame on us for doing that. They just get upset with simple statements from an ex-general about qualifications, which by the way, were true.

There is no shame in Politics.

the most effective prevaricator will always dilute the minds of supporters

by the time they realize their folly.......................it's too late

party preference does not apply

So you're comparing what Clark said about McCain to what the entire republican blogosphere said about Cleland and Kerry?

Waxing a bit desparate, aren't we? I mean, what republicans said about Cleland and Kerry is nothing compared to the hate and lies spread about Bush, Cheney, McCain, etc... by the fraylibs.

Let's compare apples to apples here.

Apples and Oranges
by Trebuchet

Nobody paid Clark to make up lies about McCain.

Re: Apples and Oranges
by Terrortoon

Interesting take, I assume you're suggesting that someone was paid to make up lies about Cleland and Kerry?

They are mad because McCain's chief claim to "experience" is being legitimately challenged. Where is their shame? They never had any.
Re: Apples and Oranges

Yes, actually the ones who lied about Kerry were paid by the Repub Party and eventually were given jobs by Owners of companies that supported Bush. So, yes they were paid for their lies. And no one has lied about Bush and Cheney. Just the opposite, Bush and Cheney have lied time after time to the American people. The latest lie is about the Chinese drilling for oil within 50 miles of the American coast. Nothing but a lie by Cheney.

Yes, he sis making that comparison.

Your post is a lie, which is pretty standard for you.

You falsely try and suggest that what was said about Kerry and Cleland were the ranting of talk radio lunatics, when in fact, they were carefully orchestrated and well financed smear campaigns, built on a bedrock of lies.

Then you say this:

"the hate and lies spread about Bush, Cheney, McCain, etc..."

You have made this baseless and incendiary claim before.

Which lies might those be?

Name them..

Then document that they are lies.

We will be waiting..

Or are you just going to run and hide and call names like you usually do.

Aside from Evangelicals, No.
by Prairieman
The past 7.5 years has been all about payday.

It certainly hasn't been about service.

Re: Apples and Oranges
by Terrortoon

So, it's not ok for independant citizens to question Kerry's service record, but it's certianly fine for the likes of you to question the right of 164 decorated veteran's to exercize their free speech rights and accuse them of being "on the take"

You are far worse than the people you critisize.

Re: Why are Repubs so mad at Clark and where is their shame?

Watching Clark's response on the CBS clip 2 things occured to my single brain cell.

1 Gen Clark appears to be saying since his military service had more scope than MAC's that that carries weight for BO. It don't.

2 Gen Clarke attempts to marginalize mad dog MACs total experience, which far surpasses BO on every level, by disclaiming everything MAC has done for this country. And by falsely selling BO for his unknown qualites of working across the aisle and getting things done. Neither of the two have happened yet.

But that is politics... we must remember that Clark is a politician and not a General any longer. Clark will say what ever to have his side win.

All we get from the MSM is the more controversal comment of Gen Clarke's making a single dumb assed remark about MAC's POW years. IMHO Clark was pushed to say that and really didn't mean it.

It could be asked with equal authority how does being bi-racial make BO any more prepared to be POTUS?

Re: Apples and Oranges
by TomFitz

You're kidding right?

The Max Cleland ads were run by the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee (one of the recipients of Jack Abramoff's laundered Indian gambling money),. Ed Gillespie (who is widely rumoured around Washington to be close gay, which wouldn't be an issue if his party didn't wrap itself up in "family values).

In short, the people who ran those ads were very well paid indeed.

But that paled compared to the the $10 million effort of the Swift Boat Liars for Bush.

You make joke!!!!!

Re: Why are Repubs so mad at Clark and where is their shame?
by Terrortoon

You can't even begin to prove your lie about blogger attacks against Cleland and Kerry being orchestrated. That's your first lie.

Your second lie is suggesting that lies were never spread about Bush and Cheney and etc... by fraylibs. Pick just about any post and it is full of baseless attacks and insane ranting lies.

Your third lie is that I never call names unless the person I am posting to starts it. You're always the instigator, I give you as good as you give.

Fourth lie. I never post lies.

Re: Apples and Oranges
by Terrortoon

Don't be an idiot.

Not one ad questioned his patriotism, but where answers to Clelands baseless attacks against the administration.

The republicans have an obligation to answer them.

Re: Apples and Oranges
by TomFitz

What?

Are you calling the Swift Boat Liars for Bush, "independant citizens" and trying to imply that they were acting on their own, and were not part of an orchestrated, well financed campaign with close ties to the Bush campaign?

You're only fooling yourself with an assertion like that.
