When the Reps put up illiterates for candidates, the fact that a guy can string together a series of intelligent thoughts becomes mesmerizing. Look at McCain, the guy can hardly open his mouth without needing someone to whisper a correction in his ear. So, I agree that some of the praise of Obama's speaking and intellectual skills is hyperventilating, but part of that is a reaction from the oxygen deprivation on the other side of the aisle.
