"I can't drive fifty-five!"

If you outlaw driving fast, you will make America a country of outlaws.

Stay off the road Granny

Ive worked on cars all my life and to my knowledge the ac doesent draw anymore power from the car than the alternater allready puts out. It alternates current to charge the battery.. The ac uses the fan belt on most vehicles to compress cold air and uses some electric power.. Im not sure on how it all works.. but it still works without the battery so it caint be drawing more power than the alternater puts out

If you worked on cars all your life, you should know this one.....
The air conditioning compressor is a pump which moves refrigerant from a high pressure, liquid state to a low pressure gaseous state (simplifying here). During the changing from a liquid to a gas, it will turn "cold" in the cars evaporator, which has a fan blowing the cold air into your car. It takes horsepower to turn the pump, which could otherwise be used to propel the car down the road. That is called a parasitic loss, and is why it costs gas mileage. The electrical component is the clutch, which engages the compressor, and the fan which blows air into the cars cabin. You are correct, the alternator can keep up with this increased demand..
