they are experts at using words - especially to lie - so they are like the southerner who insisted on using "nigrah" instead of "politically correct" terms.

AP has a style guide that says you should use gay, lesbian, GLBT etc and only use "homosexual" when talking about sex.

So all of their sites - the Baptist Press, wingnutdaily etc always "translate" AP articles. They replace "gay" with "homosexual" and put quote signs around the word "marriage" if they are talking about gays.

You will notice that Nano, etc, always does the same thing when he isn't calling people fags.

I see no sense in letting a small segment, and a perverted segment at that, hijack the language.

Too funny. The idea that they would set their auto-replace "gay" with "homosexual" seems so juvenile, and for them to get busted like that is priceless.

Loved some of the commentary to that. "George Pubic Hair" and "Penis Cheney" were pretty good, and "Penis van Lesbian" was better yet!

I suppose arch doesn't deserve that, so I can remove it...what bothers me about the thread is not the jokes (thought it was funny too), but tip's reaction. I have yet to decide if it's unfair of me to even say that much about it, so perhaps I should leave it at that.

If we excuse the bigotry as being the result of a religious belief, we're legitimizing the bigotry. What if I were to say, "My religious beliefs mean that you can't marry a black person?" That's exactly what used to happen in this country.
