Shakespeare under the bus
by Cathy Roberts
Too bad about the author's attitude to catch phrases. I guess we should throw Shakespeare under the bus for his bad, and eliminate the use of such phrases as, "It's Greek to me," "the long and the short of it," "it's high time","the game is up," "fair play," etc., etc. etc. I say to the author, as they say, "Get a life."

Bravo! You put it succinctly and I agree with you 100%! He misses the point on so many of the catchphrases today and his article was, to put it lightly (lol), boring.

I was going to nominate "sea change" as the neo-Shakespearean overused catchphrase I am hearing entirely too often. Whenever I hear someone use that phrase, I always want the other parties in the conversation to ask "what exactly do you *mean* by that?"
