What success have Muslim extremists had at conquering nations? In one case, Hamas took over a large portion of the Palestinian territories of Israel. This was through elections pushed by the bush administration and aided by Israel's counterproductive policies. It doesn't, however, constitute controlling a major country.

The only other case I can think of was the Taliban granting Al Qaeda safe harbor in Afghanistan. A nation with essentially no infrastructure, and a regime that only controlled a handful of urban areas- and they weren't even the terrorists, just some sick fuck theocratic regime.

Now, if these are the greatest conquests of Muslim extremists, controlling a small portion of ghettos and allying themselves with a tin-pot dictatorship, how can one come to the conclusion that they are in any position to conquer America, a large, powerful, modern nation?

I can't see any validity in this paranoid conspiracy, honestly I think even Yuvie and Willpower would be embarassed to float such a notion. Airport and airplane security measures implemented after 9/11 pretty much have eliminated the possibility of similar attack ever happening again.

As to racial profiling - go for it. Just one question, do you just pull out the obvious "ragheads". The reason I ask is that the worlds largest muslim country isn't in Middle East, and it's citizens don't look like Osama Bin Laden.

Also, pulling out random people for searches, even though searching your granny is obviously unnecessary, throws an element into the airport security process that terrorist planners won't be able to work around. It also allows screeners to observe the reactions of other people in the que to see how they react.

Think about it, if all we searched were men of arabian descent, wouldn't the terrorists take advantage of that and recruit people that didn't fit the profile? I agree that we should be profiling people of middle eastern descent, but we shouldn't be doing it exclusively.

The North Koreans have Nuclear Weapons Capabilities, as does Pakistan, a Muslim Nation, and strangely enough India also has Nuclear Weapons Capabilities.

As was proven on 9-11-01 the Terrorists at War with the United States of America do not need an Air Force to launch an Attack against the United States of America.

The Terrorists also do not need a Navy..... as Cargo Ships with Containers dock at U.S. Seaports daily from all over the Globe.

Terrorists do not even need to get their hands on a Nuclear or Radiological Weapon, as many of the Non-Nuclear Nations have Biological Weapons stockpiled.

Vigilance and resourcefulness are key in protecting the United States of America from Attack..... and a take no prisoners attitude when dealing with known Terrorist Cells moving to Attack the United States of America, which means the Military is also key, and not the Civilian Police and Court System, as some Politicians have wanted to move towards.

This is the always ridiculous part of the argument. That no one says they exist...or that no one is paying attention.

Life isn't safe. There are no guarantees and that's the way it is. We lose thousands upon thousands of Americans to gun fire, to auto accidents and to entirely controllable health issues. Is that what you want?

We have now lost more Americans...and killed FAR MORE innocents in our "war" on terrorism than the 2,900 citizens from over 80 nations that died in the WTC attacks.

This is where the classic quote regarding liberty and security gets invoked. A free society will sometimes suffer pain, indignity and loss. Those circumstances are no reason to give away one's liberty.

So we should just sit back and "let it happen"? Why?
