Typical dog and pony show
by Puller58
Congress regularly resorts to this sort of dog and pony show to distract from lack of progress and results. Addington and Yoo are simply going to be in the think tank service or be lobbyists or try to get a seat in the McCain administration. Listening to the proceedings merely confirms the low approval poll numbers that Congress enjoys right now.

Actually, I'm pretty sure both are going to be career professors...Yoo's already on that track (currently teaching at Boalt Hall - UC Berkeley's Law School) and Addington is likely headed to some teaching outpost. Granted, finding a prestigious school to offer him a job will be somewhat difficult; he's a rather nefarious character who will likely go down in American history as one of the President's henchmen (rather analogous to those surrounding Ulysses S. Grant during his Presidency), but he's nonetheless considered an intellectual force to be reckoned with. Along with Nino Scalia and Dick Cheney, Addington will go down as one of the architects of the Unitary Executive theory. As far as legal theories go, it's been pretty influential - indeed, to a rather tragic extent.
