Obama winning over Clinton supporters

Much to the displeasure of neocons here, all of whom would take great pleasure in seeing the Democratic Party fractured this November, it appears as though Barack Obama is slowly winning over some of those disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters. Obama and Clinton will be campaigning together for the first time in Unity (what a fitting name) New Hampshire on Friday.

Barack Obama has won over more than half of Hillary Rodham Clinton's former supporters, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll that finds party loyalty trumping hard feelings less than three weeks after their bruising Democratic presidential contest ended. The poll suggests time is beginning to heal some rifts from the primary campaign and that the New York senator's endorsement of Obama carried weight.

The poll was taken in the days after Clinton suspended her campaign and said she was supporting her rival. Obama's progress with Clinton supporters is marked, yet far from complete. More than one in five who had backed the New York senator now plan to support Republican John McCain in the fall, a boost for McCain if those opinions hold.

The AP-Yahoo! News poll, conducted by Knowledge Networks, is part of an ongoing study that tracks the attitudes and opinions of a scientifically selected group of more than 2,000 Americans to see how their political views evolve over the course of the campaign. The poll found 53 percent of the Democrats who favored Clinton for the nomination two months ago now back Obama for president. That's an improvement from April, when only 40 percent of Clinton supporters said they would back Obama over McCain.

Saw that one. If you look at the electoral map today, it looks like he has a very good chance of putting FL in his column. It's been tied for several days. Additional, at this point he's ahead in MI, WI. MN, VA, NM, CO, OH, PA and OR in addition to the traditional Dem states.

Have you watched any of McCain's speeches? Maybe speech lessons?

A newly released CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that if Obama does not select Clinton as his running mate, 22 percent of her supporters would stay home this fall -- and another 17 percent would vote for McCain.

Half?!?

To WIN, he will need ALL her supporters and a heafty number of Independents.

He doesn't have the qualifications and has only won the "new hippies" with his "give change a chance" love-in's.

As I said "much to the displeasure of the neocon here"

Fact is that Obama and Hillary haven't begun to campaign together yet. Look forward to another leap in the polls, once they do. Fact is that RIGHT NOW Obama is ahead in all of the polls. <link>. Fact is that according to CNN the June polls have correctly indicated who the winner in ten out of the last fifteen presidential races. As Rupert Murdock predicted, there will be 'a Democratic landslide in the U.S. presidential election'. <link>

Or would you now call your media God a liar?

Yeah, I've noticed the old guy has had quite a problem with teleprompters...of course we know is prompter is Bush!

FYI: During his speeches, if you look at McCain closely, you will notice his mannerisms and body language to be those of Bush...very frightening!

Who pays any attention to thicklebob?

All he does is trot out whatever the GOP and their minions are putting out. You can almost smell the fear from him that his beloved gang is going to be picked out.
McCain also looks like a robot

that's been too tightly wound. Wonder how thicklebob feels about Gordon Smith in OR trying to ride Obama's coat tails? Smith certainly isn't using McCain or Bush in his ad. Wonder why?

I believe that from personal experience, and yes, I am afraid that he will fall off the wagon on this one, which I think will be a serious blunder.

I think you'd do well to take a look at the electoral map. He's doing just fine on his own without the bitter, angry Clinton supporters.

This begins today. Yesterday Obama paid Hillary $4,600; his first installment on over $20 Million in endorsement money. Do you think other people are as stupid as Democrats?

lol

P.S. - I don't have a "media god"; I have but one GOD and he doesn't like Liberals much.
