Hyperlinks in Court Opinions?
by Basil Seal

Pardon my fastidiousness, but I was rather dumbstruck by the following quotation by Noah of Nino's majority opinion:

"....it can be pointed at a burglar with one hand while the other hand dials the police; it can be twirled around the index finger like Lee Marvin did in Seven Men From Now."

Am I to believe that the Supreme Court - an institution that has adamantly opposed such modest technological advances as the installation cameras, much less audio recorders, in the courtroom - has now begun the practice of including hyperlinks in their opinions?

It's novel of Noah to insert the hyperlink in the opinion, but at least some editorial indication of that insertion seems necessary.

Alas, I've just learned the pitfalls of rapid reader response. Instead of finishing Noah's piece (and consequently coming upon his admission of altering the quote), I hastily penned (...typed) an ill-fated complaint.

Consider my thread moot...

It is still irresponsible to insert anything inside quotation marks which is not attributable. No subsequent disclaimer of spoof excuses such dishonesty.
