Let's have another couple thousand of innocent civilians die just so that McCain can be president. What's next? is the McCain camp gonna put out a 'help wanted' add to call on terrorists to fly more planes into buildings? Geesh...you can't make this stuff up.

Fortune Magazine is running a profile on John McCain titled, "The evolution of John McCain." McCain's chief advisor, Charlie Black, is interviewed in the piece. Below is a choice quote from Black on why he thinks another terrorist attack on US soil would help McCain win the presidency.

On national security McCain wins. We saw how that might play out early in the campaign, when one good scare, one timely reminder of the chaos lurking in the world, probably saved McCain in New Hampshire, a state he had to win to save his candidacy - this according to McCain's chief strategist, Charlie Black. The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an "unfortunate event," says Black. "But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us." As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. "Certainly it would be a big advantage to him," says Black.

The only thing Mr. Bush has to brag about is the lack of attacks on US soil since Sept 11, 2001. An attack now, would be hard to determine who would be helped the most.

Democrats have been soft on terrorism. So it might help Mccain more.

There really are no McCain supporters out there.

Look, if you removed everyone on the Fray that was a McCain supporter, and everyone on the Fray that was a McCain detractor, you would be left with a bunch of people that were Obama supporters.

Right?

But, if you removed everyone on the Fray that was a Obama supporter, and everyone on the Fray that was a Obama detractor, you would be left with nothing.

There are no McCain supporters. The movement conservatives hate McCain as bad as they hate people that want to get rid of little george's tax giveaway to the rich or is opposed to building a fence around Mexico, but they are absolutely terrified that a Black Man could become president of the United States, so they tolerate McCain just to make sure that Obama doesn't become another Tiger Woods.

The big fear for Movement Conservatives is not that Obama might become president, but what happens if he becomes president and everyone loves him? What if he talks to people we have refused to talk to and we start signing some real, lasting agreements with those people? What if the economy is rejuvenated by some real governmental programs that make us a manufacturing nation again as well as energy independent.

What if he wins a landslide second term?

Ultimately, Obama signals the end of the Movement Conservative dynasty that was supposed to last a hundred years and instead had only limited success for thirty years or so.

This is the first indication that the Security Alert lights are going to begin flashing like a pinball machine right after Labor day.

Somewhat ludicrous, both Black and you; however, the positive side.......it didn't take McCain 20 years to denounce the irresponsible statement, he did it immediately. That's called being responsible. Now, try to remember that word......foreign to liberals.
