I stop in to glance at a fashion column, for once, and what do I get?
Designers have not focused on sleeves with such intensity since Helmut
Lang cut them extra-skinny in the early '90s and Consuela Castiglioni
reacted a decade later with an extra-loose fit for Marni. But the most
important designers showing in Paris in February shifted attention from
breasts and legs to wings. Women's arms—yes, arms—are the new body part
of choice.
What utter grotesquerie. Shall we grab a carving knife, to separate that choice body part from the rest of the carcass? And do you prefer a cornbread stuffing, or regular breadcrumbs, with your human beings?
And people wonder why some of us opt out of paying any attention to "fashion".
