Barack Obama is a Liar
by AtlantaDemocrat
+1/-2 Reply

Barack Obama pledged to NOT opt out of public financing as long as his rival did the same.

Today he announces he WILL opt out. Barack Obama IS A LIAR. I am sure you Obama supporters will make excuses , or say it doesn''t matter, etc.

It does matter if he is a liar. He should have never made the pledge if he planned to opt out. He is a LIAR.

And this is "Change We Can Believe In" LOL

Watch the next time Obama speaks. He has a Presidential seal in front of him with his name on it. Republicans were making fun of it on CNN.

Fair enough. Is McCain lying when he says he supports our troops and then repeatedly votes against them?

Is McCain a flip-flopper when he voted against Bush's tax cuts and now wants to make them permanent?

Was McCain lying when he said his comment that his comments that it was "not that important" how long troops stay in Iraq was taken out of context?

Was McCain lying when he went after Obama for saying that it was unfortuante that Obama didn't disavow atacks on Cindy McCain from the DNC when the so-called attacks were really about McCain not reimbursing his wife for use of her private jet? This in response to Obama saying that McCain didn't disavow real attacks on his own wife?

What about these flip flops?

Calling Televangelists agents of intolerance and then cozying up to them for endorsements or co-sponsoring an immigration bill and then voting aginst it.

It's reasonable to go after Obama for breaking a pledge as long as McCain has to abide by the same standard. So far at least this hasn't been the case.

I could care less about Mccain because I am a Democrat.

Barack Obama pledged to NOT opt out of public financing, and then did.

His campaign slogan is "Change we can believe in"

He is a LIAR.

Yes. No one should ever change their mind about anything, ever.

Hmm. Another bitter Hillary supporter.

Either that, or a Republican trying to be clever and pretend that he is a Democrat. If you support McCain, you are not a real Democrat.

No, he did not lie. Unless you can show me one instance where he said that he woould take public funding no matter what his opponent did.

Barack Obama pledged to take public funding if his opponent was serious about public funding as well. McCain proved he wasn't when he tried to play the system during the primaries.

Also, Obama has asked supporters not to give money to 527s and has curtailed a lot of the activity. MoveOn.Org has closed its doors. McCain has said there is nothing he can do about 527s supporting him.

McCain was still gaming the system. Obama didn't have to.

We promise to love, honor, and obey...but generally do so only when it is deserved. Public financing would be great if outside groups could be restricted from running their own advertisements, but that isn't possible. Obama would have been a fool to agree to it, especially so when McCain openly declared he wouldn't "referee" 527's. He gave them the green light.

Further, I don't think McCain decided (at least, his most recent decision) to go with public financing because he preferred it, he used it for collateral for a loan...so I suspect he now has no choice.

To the best of my knowledge there are no 527s currently taking on the cause for McCain in any meaningful way.

Regardless, Obama looks like the consumate politician in saying one thing, then doing another when it suits his purpose.

His entire campaign has been about doing things differently . He is not doing things differently as he has already proven himself to be a liar, and only concerned with his own self interests.

Spin it however you like, but the facts are clear.

An election is a game: admittedly, a very expensive, high-stakes game, but it's a game nonetheless, like chess, or checkers, or Monopoly, or especially RISK. And in chess, or checkers, or Monopoly, you play to win and not worry about the other guy. In every game, you must put your own self-interest first (except for PAST LIVES, in which winning involves being nice to other players).

Obama made a good tactical decision. He didn't hurt anybody by doing it (as I would if I lied about forming an "alliance" with an opponent in RISK, then took Kamchatka while his forces were massed in Europe: also a good tactical maneuver), he didn't do anything illegal or even immoral. He just made a good tactical decision.

Is any politician running for office going to NOT act in "his own self interests?" Does anyone ever act against their "own self interests?" Why shouldn't Obama make decisions for the self-interests of his campaign? Is he expected to run ads for McCain now, since he clearly has more money?

If you want to accuse someone of lying, why not talk about lies that matter? Sheesh.
