Its interesting to watch how the crowds get sucked-in and duped. This scenario was played out in Germany back during the days when Germany was still trying to recover from WW-1 and was lacking a leader with vision.

Out of nowhere came this charismatic man who had all of the right...Hmmmm..."things" to say to the wayward people of Germany. "He was their man! He was going to save Germany!" Chanted the hypnotized and enamored crowds. Soon there were flags, statues, parades, and cults created in honor of this new leader who was going to change Germany. One could not speak negatively of or disagree with Germany's "man of change" without severe consiquences.

Well; it didn't take too long for the people/Europe to regretfully find out the mistake that was to put faith in this "man of change".

It seems that the same scenario is setting itself up for another "man of change" to make the scene. Already the crowds in America are blindly following obama and discrediting and chastizing those who don't follow him.

Yes; history does repeat itself and great kingdoms and nations rise & fall at the hands of "demigod leaders and deluded followers". So enjoy your "man of change" while you still can.

Obama excites people with his elegant speeches so he's another Hitler. Then, like Hitler he's against habeas corpus, he's pro torture, and he's an advocate for a belligerent foreign policy that uses lies to justify invading nations that pose no threat to us. There have been numerous charismatic leaders during human history. Some were evil, some were good. Charisma is one of the tools that a leader can use to get followers to produce change, for better or for worse. To compare Obama to Hitler is, at best, strange. By the same token, one might compare McCain to Genghis Khan because both were in the military or Jimmy Carter to Stalin because both were born in Georgia.

Fortunately, your analogy is flawed, since our founding fathers had enough foresight to install checks and balances between the branches of the government.

then the analogy is still flawed, Hitler was not an unknown quantity to the German people. This was a guy who launched a coup against the democratically elected government a decade before he was made chancellor. Also Hitler made it quite clear from the beginning that he hated Jews, Slavs, gays etc. He blamed them, especially Jews, for sabotaging the war effort in WWI. Hitler wasn't some Manchurian candidate who was put into office after saying nice things and then suddenly became evil. Finally the circumstances are completely different, Germany was a defeated, poor, angry nation, and the U.S is still the richest most powerful country in the world.

And as far as America being the richest and most powerful nation today? Well........; don't count your chickens before they hatch. Perhaps you should study the US economic situation and the value of the US dollar on today's market. Military-wise? The US military is so over-stretched right now that should a major war break out between the US and another power like say China, Russia, or a coalition of nations; that claim you made might come back to haunt you.
