California Dreamin - puhleez
by npr1

Surely the writer of 'California Dreamin' is aware that gay men are thrilled at the chance to go 'bareback' - that is, without a condom. So don't cluck like a mother hen - if you do know gay men, then you certainly know that. The clubs where gay men go to have anonymous sex are not filled with condom-wearing guys running around making sure that what they are doing is healthy.

And although I'm sure once in awhile a lesbian may be surprised by the 'straight woman next door hitting on her', that may have something to do with the fact that the lesbian IS a lesbian and that is what SHE does. So the curious are attracted; it's not like lesbians don't approach straight women to see if they can hook up just because they're attracted to the woman. It's pretty common to find out someone is a lesbian when she makes a bold attempt to 'get some' or just maybe plant a big old deep kiss on someone who didn't expect it.

Gay guys don't line up to get married the way lesbians do for the simple reason that they know divorce is going to be expensive. Lesbians still have that 'Now I have someone to take care of me' hope springing eternal.

For all that, he seems to know so much about them, though (He? Yes, he). You would think that someone with those attitudes would have to rely on the most shopworn old stereotypes of gay people but this guy is really... I'm drawing a blank now, what's the word?

whut?

I am confused, unless you are being sarcastic. To me, he IS relying on shopworn stereotypes of gays, and managing to work in the one about greedy she-devil ex-wives to throw in some misogyny along with his homohatred.

The word that would occur to me is 'scared.'

My point was that he seems to have a perspective on life which is destined to make him eternally angry and unhappy and bitter (I know lots of ppl with this apporach to life), and that no matter how much he despises gays and gay life, it wont change anything.

So am i missing something?

Carolle, eofiss is being sarcastic. I took the reply to mean that the original poster seems to be intimately familiar with gay and lesbian behavior to be able to make such negative assertions, and that kneejerk stereotypes are one thing, but this post is on a whole 'nother level entirely.

For me, the poster reveals alot about what they think drives people. Apparently gay people are driven inexorably by their sexual orientations and genders and will jump at any chance to sex it up according to their typical manly or womanly instincts as it were. I would assume he believes the same is true of straight people?

The word that came up for me is "resentful"...? Hrmmm...

Hi chinpudding! :)

I *thought* eofiss was being sarcastic, but I am not so highly skiiled in catching that, am kinda naive...thanks for straightening that out for me! :)

now if you will excuse me, i am off to seduce some straight girls into having some wild, kinky, unprotected sex!

There are two funny things about this: the total ignorance of the first post and the fact that my partner (we are gay women planning to marry) hit me in the head with a pillow for laughing so loudly at this and said "well the two of you should shut up."
