How exactly is McCain a good person? Graduating near the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy makes him a good person? Suckling at the public teat for his entire adult life makes him a good person? Dumping his first wife makes him a good person? Promoting the use of torture makes him a good person? I can't say that I'm entirely convinced.

Damn Clearvoice either his service matters or it doesn't. I personally am in awe of what he and all those guys who went to Vietnam did. He could have gotten out of even going to war, they were going to let him out early and he refused which had to take courage that many would not have knowing that staying very well could mean death. Yes he believes that staying there till it is a much safer and stable place. It seems like this surge thing is working and to argue that a safe, secure Iraq is not in our best interest is idiotic.

So your choice is does McCain's way provide a path to a safer more secure Iraq or not. If not well then Obama's plan makes sense because it entails less cost and less lives. I do not see how Obama's plan can achieve a safer more secure Iraq.

They both have ideas and if you dig into them you will find that both have good ideas and both have bad ideas. Who has more, well that is for you to decide but to demonize McCain is not necessary just as it is not necessary to say that Obama is all bad.
