As a matter of fact:

" In sum, the Rumsfeld/Haynes techniques resulted in the very opposite of what their authors intended: They contributed to an extension of the conflict with al-Qaida and have endangered the very same national security they were meant to protect."

This pretty much destroys the arguments of the administration, and all of its supporters, within and without the government, regarding the efficacy of the Republican policies to protect the United States (and the free world) from terrorist threats; doesn't it?

I'm willing to bet that the same can be said of the U.S.A. Patriot Act in all of its incarnations.

That is because I think you have to look at why these things happened. I believe that everything the Bush Administration has done was part of their plans and agenda. Their belief is that the president, Bush, is all powerful, and therefore whatever he says is right, legal and proper. And you and I are wrong.

Of course, that silly ole "god-damn piece of paper" the Constitution, you know, what our government and country is based on, makes the ridiculous claim that the people run the country, and the elected officials are beholden to those people! What quaint ideas. Just what were they thinking, the people in charge.... A bunch of mental midgets, right, Jefferson, Washington, Madison, Paine, etc etc etc.

Now there's a list that George Bush NEVER has to worry about seeing his name mentioned with.

As a matter of fact, except for Paine, just by being elected and serving, George W. Bush is on the same list as George Washington, Thomas Jeffereson, and James Madison. (Considering that Harding is also on that list, it makes you realise how lean are the requirements to get on that list, and wonder at the standards and/or knowledge of the electorate.
