John McCain is the new Bob Dole.

He's a well respected war hero that has towed the party line for eight years too long.

He is seen as old by people who care about policy and by people that only care about how you look on TV.

He is campaigning against a rock star.

Soon he will be doing ads for Pepsi.

Unless of course I am wrong and he is really Eisenhower. Yikes!

I'm thinkin' Viagra ads are in John's future. Clinton will be doing the pepsi ads.

I keep hearing how McCain is a "war hero". Just what did he do? He got shot down and held in a POW camp. Strange definition for a hero.

John Kerry got a Silver Star and purple heart and that wasnt a hero?

You guys gotta work on your idea of what a hero is.

Personally I like the ones who actually accomplish things.

Gosh, I had thought that pulling five years in a very nasty POW prison, then going on to become a US Senator constituted a recognizable form of accomplishment. Thanks for setting me straight.

Well it seems that being an actual war hero who rescued people in the middle of live combat wasnt heroic enough for republicans so no, getting yourself shot down and then hanging out in a POW camp isnt enough for me to be called a hero.

Of course the 9/11 era has really cheapened the meaning of hero. Not that it matters, according to republicans all you need to do to be a hero is die in a terror attack or get stationed in Iraq.

I think that McCain is rich old white man who happened to be a POW during a war. He is hardly a hero. He is a rich old white guy and that is what has run our country into the place we are today. A country that favors keeping the rich rich, leaving the poor without hope or help, and picking up wars whenever possible to distract the rest of us from the reality we live in.

Time for real change.
