A different perspective to think about
by Sephireno

I believe that in the American society individuals diagnosed with ADHD are given less of a chance to truly make something of themselves. The society we live in today isn't as perceptive to change as some think. I should know. I was diagnosed with ADHD in elementary school. Since that time I have been medicated with at least three different medications. Sure they work but at what price? As a high school senior, society is looking to me and my fellow classmates around the country to make something of ourselves and fall into the Societal Norm. Those diagnosed with ADHD must find solace in ourselves and others living with ADHD. The nomadic tribal people from the study are from one small portion of the world. This study may have started the foundation for the advancement of the research effects of ADHD and ADD in the societal environment, but what of those already diving into society's division of mentally impaired? What we need is a better societal, emotional, and learning environment. But due to some individuals fear of change, it probably won't neccessarily happen in my generation. Those of us with ADHD or ADD are more inclined to change than everyone else. So the societal environment can learn a thing or two from those with this "diesease".
