Black?
by ozymandias888
Isn't BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA more Arabic than Black? One Black grandmother, and the other grandparents Arabic? Wasn't the Arabic slave trade quite active in that part of the world for some time? So this man, beloved of the descendants of slaves, is, in fact, a descendant of slave traders?

My heritage is half Irish, half Norwegian. So, chances are, one of my ancestors probably pillaged one of my other ancestors. Ain't life just a kick in the pants?

1. Last I checked Kenya was not an Arab country. His father was a black, African, non-practicing Muslim. One needn't be Arab to be Muslim. Remember the Serbians?

2. I am a descendant of slaves and slave-owners (I can document 3. There are most likely more).

Aside from that fact being of interest to me and my family, it's really quite irrelevant.

It would be too ridicolous to even attempt to give an intelligent response to this retarded commentary. However, read a book learn something, then come back to post your comments.

Your claim is among the rubbish that continues to circulate on the internet as part of the muslim smear fear mongering tactic.
Re: Black?

Now I've got to get in on this one! "muslim smear-fear tactics"? Give me a break! The only belief or religion that is regularly smeared & feared in American media and culture is the belief which "America" was supposidly founded on (look at the coinage-In God We Trust) Christianity. You would think after the 9-11 disasters and horendous atrocities comitted in the name of allah that these so-called bleeding heart types here in America would be out in the streets and in the media protesting islam. And lets not go back to that old "crusades excuse!" The muslims back then were doing the same thing. Do the Moors ring a bell? I've been to many muslim countries and I can say this in their defence; they don't ridicule the god and belief system which their countries were founded on. They respect it. Unlike America where anything goes and for Christianity that means out the door or the subject of a crude & rude film or comedy stand-up routine.

The problem with Americans is that they think being politically correct is the answer to everything; even if that means degrading yourself in the process.

Re: Black?

You must be on another planet if you don't know that there is a deliberate campaign to smear Obama, which is probably why 10% of Americans still think he's Muslim and others (even in the Fray) who think he's the Anti-christ, the Mahdi, unpatriotic etc., based on distortions and lies, many of which are circulating on the internet. Hillary's campaign had to fire 2 staffers some months back who confessed to starting the muslim smear via the internet.

And it's unfortunate if you can't make any distinctions between Muslims and muslim terrorists. Your counter-arguments on Christianity are irrelevant to the issue presented in the post. Give us a break.

I don't give a rip if obama worships golden onions! My point is that....oh before I forget; you can handle this can't you? I mean I know child-like people and sensitive types you have to handle carefully....Anyway, my point is that people like you are so bias and double-standard when it comes to certain beliefs and races. Just let anything smell of whitey or Christianity in this country and all hell breaks loose with tolerance and diversity types.

News Flash....Christianity is not a whiteman's religion. It started over in the Middle East where islam started. So you should be more "tolerant" because it was "people-of-color" who brought it to the rest of the world.

Re: Black?
by ChristineATL

You are off on a tangent with your knee-jerk defenses, judgements and labels (you like the term "whitey"?). Who's even talking about whether Christianity is a white-man's religion or not, or even accusing white people or Christians of anything? So to identify misinformation about Obama's heritage and hightlight the truth that there is fear-mongering going on in his campaign is "child-like" and "sensitive" and a betrayal of Christianity? Very illogical. What on earth does Christianity have to do with accusations that Obama is a descendant of slave traders?

Your comments are totally irrelevant to the point of the original post and subsequent comments, and a waste of time for me to respond to further. Maintain your adversarial paradigm and world view if you wish: Islam vs Christianity and Whiteman vs People of Color, etc. and let it characterize everything and everybody for you.

"People like you are so bias and double-standard when it comes to certain beliefs and races." And don't presume you know a thing about me.

Ciao.

Are you saying that it would be better fro America to have a religious state? Not seperate church from state? Do you prefer to uphold your belief the way those you reffer to do under the cloak of religion? Think about the implications of this based on what you see around you with religious states and the historical behaviour of the cathtolic and christian religious empires. Is Religion the answer or does the answer lie in you? Seperation of state and religion was necessary to try to correct religious power imbalances and serious crimes against humanity, under the guise of religious beliefs.

Who brought christanity is not important, what is important is what others used it to do. Good things can be used by people for bad reasons. The thing remains good but it's simple purpose is is unfortunately left tarnished and in need of serious repair.
