A Parabola mapping our American Trajectory
by MichaelBernard1
The St. Louis Arch represents all the Progress we made as a modern society in the 20th Century, we Americans, in technology, modernism, business, the arts, journalism, mass media, medicine, education, trade, politics, electrification and electrical generation, automobiles, airplanes, foreign policy, foreign trade, food, democracy, industrial and manufacturing legerdemain, privacy rights, property rights, limited yet effective government, and the list goes on. The arch also represents our FUTURE TRAJECTORY as Americans who support Feminism and Abortion, Science in the interest of Corporatism, Engineering in the service of Pentagon follies, no sense of history of ourselves or others, anti-immigrant sentiment, cloistered politicians, ideologies galore, ignorance of God and Religion, a failing economy, a busted budget, a stupid war or series of wars, an 800 pound gorilla of an Uncle Sam Government grown to 1,200 pounds at least, a worn out infrastructure, a backward and inadequate public transportation and public transit system, a lack of imagination, a self-congratulatory yet vacant and ineffective political leadership, a culture of narcissism, theft and ignorance, and an era of mandated limits, to include environmentalism and population control. The St. Louis Arch is symbolically located at the Center of the Country, where Civilization Ended, and the Frontier Began. How appropriate.
