to, um, not watch TV? I have to plug my TV into the grid, and then drive my car to work to be able to pay for the cable and electricity to watch it, and this saves the environment how?

I prefer to conserve energy by sitting on the couch. ;)

I've seen Slate articles shown on msn.com so I'm sure they won't mind a little cross-advertising...

This is probably the best, most easily accessible article on both economics and the environment I've seen on an internet news/commentary site.

The cheapest way to save the Earth - MSN Money

I like that one!

I don't even need a TV network to show me how to do that!

Thanks mermaid! ;)

Excellent article.

Often, people forget the KISS factor. There are tons of simple things to do to save money, time, energy. Starting an entire new TV network sounds un-simple and counterproductive to me.

maybe we should spread environmental awareness on cheap recyclabe paper, sitting on the ground, with a cup of....mud, and recyclabe paper clothing. Oh ya and the ink will be sap from the trees...

Honestly, the best way to save the Earth is to CONSERVE what we do and what we use. I agree that we don't need a brand new network to use energy and tell us that, especially if the some of the shows don't come across as serious.
