the obama vote guilt trip
by baltimore aureole

so if you're white, and you don't vote for obama, they'll threaten to call you "racist"

and i suppose if hillary was the nominee, they'd label men who didn't vote for her "mysogynists"

then what should we call people who refuse to vote for mccain?

how about "illiterate on history and economics"?

baltimore aureole: Well written post. I am afraid that in this election the voters will be damned if they do and damned if they don't. While we really have no "great" choices to choose from, I am going with the man who loyalty is not in doubt. Who's experience is not in doubt and who nearly gave his life for his country. Mr. Obama, may one day be a good POTUS, however he needs political seasoning which without, it would be akin to throwing him to the wolves in Washington D.C.. Additionally he needs a more realistic approach to the problems that face America. Former POTUS Bill Clinton had (4) chances to take action against terrorists who attacked this country while he was POTUS. He choose the "wait and see" approach and possibly missed a chance to stop 9/11. Obama wants to end the war in Iraq by taking a "cut and run and "wait and see" tactics. The wait and see take no offensive action approach did not work for Democratic POTUS Clinton and there is no reason to believe it will work for POTUS wannabe Obama. Mr. Obama's ideas are a "change" only in that it is he that is trying to convince us they will work and not the current presidential administration. They are mostly all failed policies from the past and people need to wake up and realize that. Sure he is calling them different names, but is a house painted a different color a different and better house or just a different color house? Perhaps not the best analogy but I think you get the idea. I am not saying that McCain has all the answers to this country's problems, but at least his policies are not shrouded in smoke and mirrors, they are straight foreword for all to see. Better the devil we know than the devil we (or at least I) do not.

Quote What about them? Last I checked McCain is not ruining on a political platform of destroying our constitutional rights, if you have some proof that he is, PLEASE let the world know. Obama reminds me of that the Governor of the State of Texas in the old movie :The Best Little Whore House in Texas. He is a fantastic actor and has a great script/ song & dance routine, but gets nothing worthwhile accomplished. Have you noticed that Obama is beginning to change his political stance on issues he was against and now, because they are popular he is for them? The Supreme Court's gun ban ruling is just one example. He was against gun ownership before and now has publicly said he is supporting it. I would have had much more respect for, and believed him to be a more truthful person, if he has just said that he respected the court's decision, but he still believed that the DC gun ban and all other gun bans should stand as is. His "flip/flopping" has proved that he is no better than McCain and just another politician who will do/say what ever he thinks the voters want to hear to get our votes. If that is what we have to choose from, then as I said before, McCain gets the nod.

Well, has he promised to restore the constitutional checks and balances that Bush has spent the last 8 years pissing on? If he has, let me know.
