Saving Private Ryan was a MOVIE

Are you seriously comparing China's one-child policy to what a fictional US military commander decided to do?

Even if the movie was based on reality, the decision was based on one man's decision, not a tenent of the entire armed forces. Did they go after the only remaining sons of 2 child households?

How many only or "last" children have died in Iraq? Do they get some kind of special exception so that they don't have to fight on the front lines?

This is the most ridiculously uneducated and biased rant I have ever read on these pages, on par with Bill O'Reilly's nonsensical tirades.

If every American is like you, i guess American would be much more welcome in the world. What Saletan are doing is nothing but ruining American's image in front of the world people. I have wrote two articles to discuss the issue with him. But he seems to be happy to carry on these ridiculous trirades.

That bit in Private Ryan was based on the deaths of the Sullivan brothers (<link>)

After all five brothers died together, the Navy stopped letting entire families serve on the same ship.

edifice2007, I see one very good reason that your articles have not been published or discussed: your lack of command of the English language.

I feel very ashamed that I have been learning English for more than 10 years but still don't have a good command of English, though I always achieve highest score in the exams.I guess I gain what a Chinese student can gain under the Chinese educational system. As for me, I feel my writing is good compared with my oral English.I wouldn't be confident if I don't speak English fluently. So I plan to take GRE and go the the USA.The most important reason is to speak English well. Though my parents don't agree with me and I feel nervous about GRE, I want to try.

Okay, now I feel bad. I thought you were another one of our undereducated, grammar-and-spelling-challenged American hackers. I apologize. You did much better in your second post.

- English major

Never mind! My major is Pharmaceutical engeering in universty, and my present major is Medicinal chemistry in a gratuate school. But I always view English as my favorite. Sometimes I write arbitrarily.Because I get tired of grammars and I believe my American fellows understand what I'm talking about. When I talk with Singaporeans, I feel that grammar is shit.No courntry's citizens spoil English as Singapore do. It is almost impossible for you to find any grammar in their oral English. They like to say: I don't like it lar... Sorry lar...lol.. But they can communite with each other without any problem. I end up knowing that vocabulary is most important. Anyway, this is my humble opinion.
