OBAMA IS NO AGENT OF CHANGE
by Ben Hogan

I am a republican. Non-thinking libs will stop there and ignore my post. The rest. Please read on. I am quite disappointed in my own party of late. They are Republicans in name only. They spend like drunken sailors and have been feeble opposition to the environmental greenies who are now strangling our economy. Sorry, $4 dollar gas prices are not due to Bush, oil companies or GM. They are due to an increased global demand for oil and our own unwillingness to drill for oil domestically. But the libs won't let us drill in ANWAR or off the coasts. We can't build new refineries or God forbid develop nuclear energy. Libs. Wind power, solar, etc ain't gonna cut it. The Republicans in congress haven't done squat. You libs have now controlled the house and senate for two years. They have not done anything either.

What you libs ought to be wondering is why your messiah Obama is not killing McCain by at least 10-15 points. The economy is not going well, gas prices, etc. Yet this fresh faced agent of change can't shake McCain. Why not?

I'll tell you why. He is not qualified to be President and when November rolls in more than 52-53% of Americans will agree. This hope and change BS is meaningless to the adults who think for themselves in this country. Obama is a great speaker. McCain is terrible. But when you analyze Obama's words. He is nothing new. He is just rehashing boilerpalte lib stuff. Frankly, what he says is scary to small business owners such as me. He has no details to back this up. I've gone to his website to review the "details". What a joke. He will end poverty! He will make taxes fair for "working families". I work my ass off am I not a working family? He will create a new energy policy not dependent on foreign dictators! Really? How? His voting record is ultra lib and I find not one oinstance where he has crossed the aisle to work with Republicans.

McCain, in case you have not noticed, is not liked by most conservatives. Why? Because he actually has a track record of working with Dems and abandoning his own party on issues. He has shown the ability to do that.

But the main reason McCain will win is this. If we are attacked again, who would you rather have dealing with terrorists? Obama? Give me a break.

..The Bush policies that McCain embraces have done more than anything to make us less safe and more prone to attacks.. I'd rather avoid getting attacked again than escalate conflicts with everyone in the middle east as McCain will do. Bushes doctrine of not talking led DIRECTLY to N. Koreas develpment of nuclear bombs. McCain would do the same again. What has bush done to develop peace in Israel /Palestine? Nothing. MCCain will do the same. Maybe if we understood the people of the Middle East there would be less chance of attack? We know they hate permanent American military bases there. Bush is still building them. McCain will also. Republicans refuse to address the problems this contry faces , choosing instead to retain power through divisive attacks and scare tactics. At some point, in the dark recesses of your bomb shelter, are you ever honest with yourself?

...and $4 a gallon gas prices are the result of the Iraq war, the fruition of Cheney's secret energy meetings, and the failure to develop alternatives that would lessen our dependence 5, 10, and 20 yers ago. You really can't understand that if we lessen oil demand, rather than feeding it, we will not only save money in the long run but lessen the influence of the oil rich nations in the middle east?

Obama is not our choice. He was foisted on us by a biased news media, the DNC, and the cheating during the election.

Millions of democrats are crossing over to vote for John McCain. Republicans keep telling me that Obama will win because YOUR party does not back McCain so will stay home and not vote.

John McCain has a good chance to win an election in a year when a Republican should have NO chance because the democratic party put somebody like Obama on the ticket.

Now Democrats for McCain have created over 50 web sites and have over 10 million people joining in to vote for McCain. They are planning to donate massive money to John McCain on July 4.

I just want to say to the Republican party:

Don't make us do all your work for you. You need to get out there and drum up interest in you candidate by his own party. Get off your butts and help us keep an anti-American like Obama out of the White House!

The Republican propaganda machine is brilliant in that after more than 6 years of sustained faillure to decrease the threat of terrorism, they still have the majority of Americans convinced that they are competent mainly due to their tough talk and public posturing on the issue. And, or course...

that the issue of terrorism is primary on voter's mind (instead of a secondary issue, which it should be) is due to the Republican fear-mongering machine, and we all know that besides sex, fear is the best way to induce irrational attitudes and behaviors in the herd.

On mre thing, benhogan: You think that W was more qualified to be Prez than Obama? You ever actually look at his resume? And how'd that work out? By your metric, that would mean that Governor Schwartzenegger would be more qualified than most by virtue that he is Governor of California. Experience as a governor (regardless the size of the state) or a Senator or a Representative is simply no predictor of compentence in the White House. I'll take my chances with the unknown (Obama) any day over the tragically known and failed leadership of the Bush-Cheney Admin.

And lulubelle: stop judging other people's patriotism and start exhibiting some yourself; chiefly by using your brain.
