Laughs me 2 iffin I had that kind of cash..! I found it interesting seeing as being a mechanic in the industry... I never asked that question...! In regards to Margaret's post of they should age gracefully. I smiled they are not human Margaret.... Altho they show grace in flight , that of a bird...! Fly zillion of hours carry unbelievable amount of weight... And most of the time are retired due to airframe stress or poor maintence. Hence to many hours in the air. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong ,avg. 10,000 hour of airtime before... the mechanics of the aircarft have to be serviced repaired or replaced. Varies on the type of aircarft !
I always looked at them like taxi's really..! If you want to buy a plane.. Buy a Gumman Gulfstream, or a Lear jet.. would be my choice. They are the Cadillac of planes...! Can fly with the angels and move at the speed of sound, truly a dream... when it come to the theory of flight...
My after thought tho.... Is I hate to fly...And if GOD met us to fly... He would have givin us wings..! May god bless all those who work so very hard to make this a reality in a world... Of space cadets cowboys, and last but not least flyboys... Laughs you've heard the expression fly by the seat of your pants... Well I'm probably one of the many people who made sure your seat was of FAA standards..:P
