going down the drain and we may drag the whole world with us. Any hope we might have of getting out of the mess we are in requires a Democratic president and congress.
However valid anyone's anger might be, if we don't get past it and support the Democratic candidate we will be destroying the lives of our children, grandchildren and their children. If it isn't already too late. It really is this serious.
For the record, I am a 61 year old professional who recently retired, I always considered myself a feminist and was certainly thought one by the people I worked with. I raised a child alone and he turned out very well. I am white. I fit perfectly into the category that was defined as Clinton supporters.
My opinions about this primary were all based on who seemed most likely to win the general election, I was for Edwards because of that. After he dropped out, right before our primary, I really had a hard time deciding who to vote for. I decided to vote with the kids, because they are the ones who are getting left with this mess. It was clear to me that both Clinton and Obama were high risk choices because of race and gender, and winning has never mattered this much before. We have got to unite.
Today Hillary gave the best speech she ever gave, and I hope all of her supporters will listen to her. I am certain that Obama would have done the same if the circumstances were reversed.
Let's give them both credit for breaking down barriers and making history, both of them deserve it. And then get to work. The alternative is too awful to contemplate.
