Obama's fresh approach
by Camille Claudel
-1 Reply

This is Day 1 for the presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama. It's vital that he show Americans that old style politics is out; and that he can usher in a new era of politics based on enormous good will.

He's told us he'd talk to Iran. McCain sees that as horrific. New politics vs. old. Nice contrast there.

Obama's first step was to initiate the search for a Vice President. In keeping with the "new politics" theme, he's put together a team of 3 to put together a list of candidates.

You know, I'm going to love new politics. Out with the Washington Insiders. In with the new.

well you've apparently scooped the regular drudge trolls, c&p guys and hot linksters extraordinaire, so there's that.

and yes, we've all been fooled again, there's that too.

by the way, I talk to Iran: "Man, you suck, I bet you wish you could get 'Persia' back, well forget it, cause there's a new sherriff in town, and I'm it and it ain't gonna happen on my watch" (wipes spittle off screen)

Hello
by Camille Claudel

Checking my journals, I wrote some time ago that talking to Iran would be a good thing. It's so long ago, mind you, and I no longer have a body - but having seen so much, I'm pretty sure I would have said something along the lines of "this is an historic opportunity between Iraq and the U.S. - to talk." I guess I see that opportunity as still there, so I hope Obama gets his chance.

But it wasn't long ago that many were predicting war with Iran - even here! Or so I think. Am I wrong? If only there were a way to record history, and you Americans change your opinions so readily.

Of course it would.

And re Iran, I only remember one poster, my good Fray friend TQM, talking about people talking about war with Iran, not the talkers themselves. I've always thought the idea idiotic, but I'd just be repeating myself if I went into the reasons.

p.s. Jays destined for 2nd? to early to tell I guess, division looks kinda tough though not for the usual reasons ..

You may be right.

Memory is such a foggy thing. Perhaps it's just my paranoid perceptions that people would think war with Iran was imminent. Here's some 531 pages of paranoia. (Well - almost 531 pages.....).

But I am nothing more than a dead artist and the rules around here are to never disagree with the other dead here. I so enjoyed the various reactions to it.

My guess

nomenclature. lots of talking shit, but to me that (an air strike or campaign, even a massive one) is not war. not really remembering the original point, but striking at Iran's nuclear capability, even their infrastructure and/or say flattening Tehran, just for the sake of it (i.e. without an occupying army) ... just for me, that's not a war with Iran. that's just pulverizing somebody. but again, not sure of the point (on me). i know the book says that an American leader can only talk with an evil superpower, to do so with a lesser evil wannabe is just giving stature while getting nothing (that couldn't be gotten elsewise). so maybe we'll see, once Obama realizes he's an insider and not an outsider he'll call the whole thing off ...

I just love Barack O'Shame's "fresh approach"
by Skeppy2

Take "CHANGE we can believe in".

I certainly believe that Barack O'Shame will increase federal income taxes.

This will really not be a change in that we have been there done that in 1993 when Bill Clinton increased federal income taxes...come to think about it, this O'Same change is stale.

Camille, dear,

you're slipping out of character a lot now. Feeling better? Good. And don't worry--it's perfectly normal for white women to have fantasies about black men.

p.s. or already has
