Jimmy Carter has it exactly right...

I think his wisdom is great in this snippet from the Guardian. It's waaaaay too logical, factual and well spoken to be taken seriously BUT they should take it VERY seriously, because the "dream ticket" could very well be Obama and the Democratic Party's undoing. IMHO he needs someone like John Edwards to get the white working class votes, or another man w/a lot of experience. White is optional (Richardson would be ok), but the penis is essential.

Barack Obama should not pick Hillary Clinton as his vice-presidential nominee, former president Jimmy Carter has told the Guardian.

"I think it would be the worst mistake that could be made," said Carter. "That would just accumulate the negative aspects of both candidates."

Carter, who formally endorsed the Illinois senator last night, cited opinion polls showing 50% of US voters with a negative view of Clinton.

In terms that might discomfort the Obama camp, he said: "If you take that 50% who just don't want to vote for Clinton and add it to whatever element there might be who don't think Obama is white enough or old enough or experienced enough or because he's got a middle name that sounds Arab, you could have the worst of both worlds."

Carter, who insisted that he would have been equally against an Obama-Clinton pairing if the former first lady had won the nomination, made the remarks in an interview with the Guardian's Weekend magazine, to be published on Saturday. The interview was conducted before the final round of voting last night confirmed Obama as the party's presumptive nominee.

I'm very disappointed to read that, if it's true. Makes one wonder if American History might have been different had Carter switched VP's over to Kennedy in 80...

President Carter is absolutely correct!!!

Sen Clinton IS toxic!!!

Let her "work her heart out" (as promised) ... as vigorlessly, tirelessly and strongly as she ran for the nomination ... because it is the RIGHT thing to do, the unselfish thing to do AND the Democratic Party/Supporters/American People DESERVE NO less!!!!!!

Last night as I switched between Fox and CNN, I noted that all of the commentators made fun of Carter rather than analyze his assessment. For me it was the most cogent thing I ever heard from Carter. He hit the nail on the head. Whether or not he was an effective president is irrelevant.

Obama simply because he wants to see another democrat make a worse cock-up of his time in the oval office before he dies so that he doesn't have that particular record hanging over his head.

Carter figures that Barak Obama is very nearly a shoe in for being a worse president than he was back in the 1970s.

His one great anger point is that even after getting an Oval Office blow job [Clinton not being content to just lust in his heart] and being impeached in a bogus partisan witch hunt, Clinton STILL left office as a far more popular president than did Jimmy Carter.
