OMG! Tonight, I am no longer a D
by wizaard
+1/-1 Reply

I was born into a Democatic family in the 50's. I lived with an active Democratic mother during my formative years. My father was rather politcially wishey-washey. My birthday is Nov 8th. Hell, for years I thought I got off school because it was my birthday - although I often spent that day off at the poll eating stale donuts... One Ph.D later, I now denouce my Democatic history. There is no way my intellect will allow me to vote for Obama. My gut will not allow me to vote for McCain. In a very practical sense, I am screwed.

*DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!

My birthday is Nov 8th.

So is mine!

Tonight, I am no longer a D

You're going to have a lot of company. I voted D in every election since 1988, and in November I'll vote for McCain. Nice going DNC.

Go ahead and join the millions of other Democrats to vote for McCain in November. Hillary will be around for 2012

And why on God's green earth would you not vote for Obama? He is a solid democrat policy-wise, a beautiful speaker, incredibly intelligent, and unusually respectful for those who disagree with him.

I smell a sore loser.

I am from IL. "Speaking" and acting are two different things. Please research this man's history.

And why on God's green earth would you not vote for Obama?

He was a member of a racist institution for 20 years. Post-racial does not mean "hate whitey but don't tell it to whitey." Apparently Obama forgot that racism against whites is still racism, or thought that anti-white racism would be tolerated according to the far left rules of Policical Correctness. Either way, I'll never support him, nor will tens of millions like me.

I expect more from a candiate than two one-word slogans. "Hope" means nothing, and "change" can mean anything. As a rule, change sucks. Example: gas prices have changed.

I respect and cherish the 2nd amendment, and the protection against tyranny and criminals that it represents. Obama would trample your 2nd amendment rights at a federal level the way he has trampled them at the Illinois state level. I don't want to live in a crime-hole like the Chicago that Obama and his ilk have created. In the little town in Montana where I live, we all have guns, and peace rules every day. In Chicago, where law-abiding citizens are disarmed, a couple months ago there were 34 killings in one weekend.

Suggesting that America should run from Iraq is foolish. I didn't/don't support the war, but pulling out our troops immediately will guarantee the transformation from Iraq into West Iran. I don't know if Obama is incincere or just plain stupid on this point, either way he can't be in charge.

He is naive and ignorant on foreign policy, and wants to coddle and appease those who would destroy America. Perhaps because of his muslim father, he is soft on radical islamic extremists.

No I'm not a sore loser. I will NEVER vote for anyone that belongs to a church for TWENTY YEARS , which spews out the venom Trinity Church does. I was willing to take a chance on him, but NOT after all of this. Barrack Hussein Obsama is NEVER going to be elected President. LOL

Maybe...but if the Democrates like No-bama, there is no possibility for Hillary to run for President and she will be four more years older and voters will see her just as they see McCain...too old to run.

ME TOO!!! I am retired from politics. I am sooo dissappointed. I can't believe that people in this beautiful country can put someone in charge like obama, HUSSEIN, barach. And everybody know the history, God knows what is coming in the future, what we are going to learn about him. Is US turning into a South Africa (Nelson Mandela)

I wish H. CLINTON declare herself Independent and run for president as an Independent candidate with all the mayority votes she has, she will be elected.

I meant my question as in "why would you not vote for Obama yet support Hillary". Their positions on Iraq and the 2nd are essentially the same, so that can't be the reason (and for the record, I find them wrong on both points).

"Coddling extremists"? Don't be absurd.

You do have a point about the church, which is his biggest liability. But it is also a false one. Heck, I don't agree with my mom, my dad, my grandma dearest, my girlfriend, my best friend, or anyone else on earth about politics. Why on earth should anyone expect me to agree with my pastor? Ok, I actually don't really have one. But if I did, I wouldn't agree with him as often as not. I don't care about what Obama's friends, family, or brother's cousin's ex-roommate's college sweetheart thinks, I care about what HE thinks. And you simply cannot infer what someone believes from the most radical of their friends.
